Online sportsbooks in New York generated $214.4 million in gross gaming revenue during July, marking the highest monthly total since mobile wagering launched in 2022. The state collected $109.3 million in tax receipts from the period.

The monthly results were driven by the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which pushed the total handle to $1.88 billion and lifted gross gaming revenue by 37.8 percent compared to the same month last year. This handle figure reflects a 16.7 percent decline from June, though the combined wagering volume for June and July reached approximately $4.1 billion.Operators retained 11.4 percent of the total handle, a change from the 5.19 percent retention rate recorded in June. The higher margin allowed July earnings to exceed June totals by $97.6 million despite the lower wagering volume. FanDuel and DraftKings led the market with $651.2 million and $661.5 million in handle, generating $86.1 million and $72.9 million in gross revenue respectively.
Fanatics Sportsbook and BetMGM followed with $221.6 million and $138.3 million in handle.
